Default Request: possible to make a range counter?

Is it possible to make an add-on that displays the distance from me to my current target in a small window? It would be handy to check out if I am in spell range without trying to cast a spell. It would also be useful to find out what aggro ranges are to some mobs.

You can see whether you are in spell range by looking at your hotbars. If you are out of range, the spells are shaded darker. They will light up once you get into range.

Displaying the range in any other way is not possible.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.
