can't get in game

today, around 9: am mtn time .. i tried to log in game..
i get to screen after the login (it does the update ) process log in and then crash to desktop.. i have tried going TOTALLY to default ui and i still have the same results

up til this morning, it was running fine

Hi,

Looks like SOE might have stuffed us for the long weekend (I honestly hope not), but the servers went down at 8:AM mountain for a 3 hour update, the current everquest.exe that is in the patcher is either corrupt or missing some dll's because once downloaded your game CTD's.

I really hope in 2 hours (the estimated update window expiry time) that everything is available on the patcher to fix this and allow a long weekend's use of the game.

this isn't a server down thing...it just brings up that send error / dong send error report and hits desktop.. doesn't even try to 'find the server' .. like it normally does if servers go down.
if it was from servers down, i'd at least get some message ..
it's acting like sony left something vital out when going to the char select screen ... (that could NEVER hapen)....

GM's verify the problem most likely exists on the SOE server side with a corrupt file sent via the patch today. Wait till the servers are backup in 1:30 hrs from now and repatch.

Normal proceedure... Launch patcher, patcher updates the game client then launches the client.

If the patcher has in fact downloaded a corupted version of the client (or file part of the client) its not surprising to see a CTD shortly after hitting Play and before getting the logo screen. The basic client engine has to successfully execute to even begin rendering.
