profit on windows 7

so i downloaded the updater ran it and looked fin updated a bunch of files but when i log in game its not there i can /loadui and get the catalyst profit or whatever its called but it vary difrent from the profit i had before and have on my other computers also map updater is not there either and i downloaded it and ran it like nomal aswell

if you updated your old version of profit then its correctly updated. If you did a fresh install then catalyst is what it will show because gm9 no longer does the updating of the UI and Silat hasn't given a new skininfo file for it even with the updates.

Note that what will be different is the layout of the windows because unless you saved your layouts before upgrading to windows 7 and if you did a complete reinstall of eq2 then you will have lost those layouts. If you didn't do a complete reinstall then your layouts should still be there and there really shouldn't be a difference in your UI at all. As long as you have in eq2.ini

cl_ui_subdir ui/
cl_ui_skinname ProfitUI

/loadui shouldn't be used at all that command has always been a pita.

/load_uisettings and select from one of your characters that you know had the proper layout.

Thats the only input I can give until I know if this is an entirely fresh install. From the sounds it is. In which case everquest 2 got put in one of many places the most likely of which is programdata/installed games/sony/everquest 2

new computer fresh install of everything. im not worried about the layout. its the ui it self that is not coming up when i log in. i just went and made the programdata file visable and tried to chage file paths on the updater but it was allready set to that and is updated. however im not sure how but map updater is now working.

if the Profit updater is pointing to the correct path make sure you aren't ignoring eq2.ini by chosing Settings Ignored Files and make sure if it is ignored to remove it then run it again. You want your programdata/installed games/sony/everquest 2/ folder to have an eq2.ini file in it that has

cl_ui_subdir ui/
cl_ui_skinname ProfitUI

In it and make sure your profitui is below the directory UI in that path.

I am using generic names as I have seen others have Program Data/Games/ etc just find where your installtion of eq2 is and then make sure under that path theres a folder UI and in that folder is another folder ProfitUI and it should all be good.
