opaque dropdown listbox

has anyone been able to make a dropdown listbox opaque (i.e., not transparent - nothing shows through the listbox from the window below).

i can make the current selection in a dropdown listbox opaque by using the (apparently) undocumented property SelectedBackgroundAlpha of the ListboxStyle, but the other items in the listbox are still transparent.

any thoughts?
