Default window depth?

The things that can't be modded threads are really old, so sorry if this has been asked before. I was wondering if it was possible to create a custom window and place other windows over it. Basically im wanting something like eepanels for WoW. Just a solid background to cover up empty space to make ui look cleaner.

So, essentially you just want a solid window, yes? (All windows can be put on top of all others, so thats not an issue in EQ2).

In that case, it's quite easily accomplished. All you'd need is a window with the background color you want and just lock it in place. The only major issue I see is that if you clicked on it, it would go over top of other elements, but I believe there are some ways around that. Sort of like a HUD element, purely decorative. I'm not familiar with WoW so I don't know if the interface mod you're talking about has any special properties beyond just being a picture element.

There are a couple of HUD-type interfaces on here, e.g. eXtremeUI.

Apart from that the game already comprises a solid background window for exactly this purpose, called the widescreen letterbox. That's just an UI window as well.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

Yea, i was aware of the letterbox, but that just takes up too much real estate. Extreme suffers from the same problem imo. Great UI, just doesnt suit me. Yes, the mod i am referring to in WoW is purely decorative. It basically allowed you to generate a number of resizable, recolorable windows that could be used under others. You could even stack them onto each other by changing their "depth" resulting in some nifty designs. I generally put most of my ui elements on the bottom of screen and build box around them. Doesnt take up much space since its under the character. I recently came back to eq2 and started seeing these custom windows people were making for various things, and was just wondering if that could be used to get what i want.

If anyone thinks this is doable or would like to see my wow ui im referring to, just let me know.
