Chat windows not holding settings...

I like to have three chat windows, one for combat spam, one for chat text and one that all the rest goes to...

But, here is my problem, and apparently other's are experiencing it as well...

I set up my three chat windows, label them, filter what I want going to them and all, but then when I log and come back one or two of them have completely reset and have all everything checked, with nothing filtered. I find this rather annoying, as I always have to reset the windows and filter them how I want everytime I log in....

Is this a bug that is being worked on, or am I doing something wrong?

As already stated on other threads this is known issue, and is being investigated, however as we are still gathering data on this issue please be sure to /bug in game, we get more data from those then you would think.

My question for you guys is this...

Is there a way to alter the chat window settings from outside the game?

EQ 1 used seperate text files for window locations and UI configurations which you could open in notepad or whatever and manually change them. i was wondering if there was something similar for EQ2?

Make your character ini file readonly after you make any changes to either interface and/or chat window settings. It will work and your windows will stay where you want and hold the info YOU want. If you need to make further changes, just unreadonly, change, then re readonly. Temp fix for now, but this WORKS!

making the .ini files readonly doesnt work. i still lost everything. I uninstalled the game, deleted everything. reinstalled on a different partition, set everything back up and....









lost everything...

But hey! we can /pizza bug free at least and the email system works... 2 things that get used maybe once every two weeks at most....

hopefully the patch will work.

This is still a problem?! I remember reporting this many many time during beta.
Sad that after several attempts to fix this it still hasnt been stomped out.
