I find this rather annoying, as I always have to reset the windows and filter them how I want everytime I log in....

Is this a bug that is being worked on, or am I doing something wrong?

My question for you guys is this...

Is there a way to alter the chat window settings from outside the game?

EQ 1 used seperate text files for window locations and UI configurations which you could open in notepad or whatever and manually change them. i was wondering if there was something similar for EQ2?

Make your character ini file readonly after you make any changes to either interface and/or chat window settings. It will work and your windows will stay where you want and hold the info YOU want. If you need to make further changes, just unreadonly, change, then re readonly. Temp fix for now, but this WORKS!

making the .ini files readonly doesnt work. i still lost everything. I uninstalled the game, deleted everything. reinstalled on a different partition, set everything back up and....

lost everything...

But hey! we can /pizza bug free at least and the email system works... 2 things that get used maybe once every two weeks at most....

hopefully the patch will work. :(

This is still a problem?! I remember reporting this many many time during beta.
Sad that after several attempts to fix this it still hasnt been stomped out.
