Yeah, thats what I was using, could you recommend a different, preferably free, program to me?

Nevermind, I've found a different method. Instead of patching/replacing the file, I've found that simply editing the file with OpenOffice worked for the .txt, hopefully I'll get a similar effect from editing the .xml files as well. However, this does not fix the issue at large, it just fixes mine for the time being.
PS: I'm not using any UI builder >_>
