Default Awful Lag Since DoV

I am getting awful lag since DoV if I turn ProfitUI off the lag goes away. I have a very high end machine and never had this lag before DoV with ProfitUI. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can turn off in Profit to stop this lag? If not I will have to remove ProfitUI as the lag makes the game unplayable

There were no changes to profit with dov that would have increased lag. Try removing eq2ui_mainhud_maintained.xml from your profitui directory. That is the only thing I can think of that might have a noticeable effect on lag since it does a good bit of processing but it has been unchanged for a year or so.

It's not the UI. The DoV zones have had major lag issues due to the public quests (large numbers of people, plus they trigger large numbers of quest updates for those people while they're in progress) ever since release. Generally it's time-specific: it starts on the hour and lasts anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes depending on how long it takes to finish the PQ event. Server hardware upgrades should help.

Ok so far deleting that eq2ui_mainhud_maintained.xml file has made a huge difference. What does that file control? Do I lose any functions?

It contains the spell timer as well as the maintained window. If you want more than the default maintained window but not the spell timer just select one of the maintained window variants from the profitui updater.
