Missing Framerate/Connection Window?
In a nutshell, I'm not sure if when I put EQ2 on my new machine I somehow ended up dragging off the screen my Framrate/Connection window and didn't know it at the time, but I did notice it was missing once I started using some custom UI's. Since it's a nice machine, I will generally have it running at 1680x1050 with all the visual goodies turned on & maxed (with the exception of CPU Shadows as it's a pig, even to a 3.33ghz Core 2 Duo).
So, with this in mind, I began to look for the UI of choice for me, as no matter how customizable you make the stock UI, it's not what I like. Anyways, I'd used Fetish Nightfall in the past and for the most part, I liked it, so I used it for awhile. But that's when I noticed that my framerate/connection window wouldn't display, no matter how many times I pressed the stupid F11 key.
Fast forward a month, I figure I've just dragged the window off screen and figure I'd find a way to dig it out one day.
Then I try out Profit Reborn and love it. Has default layout settings for my 1680x1050 resolution I run in and it looks great. But once again, neither pressing the F11 key or the Profit UI button to display it, will bring up my Framerate/Connection information.
I talk to a guildmate of mine in game and he suggests loading the stock UI if I want to check it out and then reload Profit once I'm done. Since I also have a laptop I use at work to play EQ2 & also have Profit loaded up on it (only running 1024x768 in game resolution), I hit F11 to see if it shows. It does! So when I get home from work, I hit the "reset windows to default locations" in the EQ2 UI Options window (not through Profit). While it completely screws up my Profit UI layout, well, would you look at that? THERE IT IS: Framerate/Connection information! Thinking that perhaps I did just load everything up with the window drug off screen (and since each character's UI settings on this account was cloned off the 1st character), I decided to hit the standard "Use the default Profit Reborn 1680x1050 resolution and NOT my character settings".
But doing that removes the FPS/Connection window from my screen and back into the black hole of nothingness it's resided for the last 5 weeks.
What's going on?
