install eq2map

Hi,

I recently re-installed eq2 and want to use eq2maps (and perhaps profit ui), but when i follow the FAQ guide i cant seem to get the map to show ingame.

I have the eq2map folder inside my "Everquest II/UI" folder along side width the Default,font and images folder. I have also copied the images folder into the eq2map folder as i think it said that images should be in a seperate "images" subfolder.

then i made the eq2.ini file with the txt
"cl_ui_skinname eq2map
cl_ui_subdir UI/"

and log into my charactar, but alas, no eq2map :/

I'm using vista by the way (yes ... i know... Vista is the Joey of the OS "Friends", but its required for other stuff I do.)

I think i recall using specific .ini files for each character last i played (so long ago that furies didn't have root...), but cant seem to find any readmes or anything about this.

Make sure you put the ini file in the same directory as eq2.exe and not in the UI folder.

I did put the eq2.ini in the Everquest II folder (next to EQ2.exe), though.

It easyer if you use the EQ2MAP Auto Updater, will install it right for you.

thx the auto version worked no probs, I dislike (3rd party free) programs downloading stuff for me though... but who cares!, i got cool little dots that tells me where stuff is! yay and thx again

Don't worry, with that many downloaded someone would have noticed if it was suspicious

I just did a new EQ2 install from scratch and installed the Auto EQ2Map (which I used many times before with no problem) and the Profit UI (Auto). The Profit UI works well, but the EQ2 map does not seem to work and I no longer have the coordinate window at the bottom of the map. I'll keep digging through the forums here, but if anybody has experienced this, let me know. Thanks.
