Quick Macro Button Configurator
Hi gm9,
first of all, thank you very much for such a great work.
i am trying your new version to modify my buttons, but nothing happens.
Excel 2002 SP 3 is telling me something about a compiling error in a hidden module: QMBCform
Even Excel 2007 will not work.
Do you know anything about it?
Or is it my fault? Read your faq, but clicking on the spells name and then the red button delivers the error message.
Thanks in advance.

Are you on Vista? This sounds like the issue reported with Excel 2007 on Vista, but it may well affect all versions of Excel.

Hmm. Had you tried one of the previous versions before and did you have the same issue?

Sorry for that, but the answer is no, due to the fact, this had been my first try changing the macro buttons.
Do you have a adress to download an older version?
If needed, i will send you my e-mail per pm.

I don't think previous versions will change something, I just wanted to make sure. It probably has to do with SP3 for XP, maybe they changed the same thing with it that also breaks it on Vista. If I can get my hands on an XP SP3 with Office on it I'll see what I can do, and eventually I was going to make the tool into a standalone but that is even further down the line.
Until then you are probably out of luck unless you can find a different machine/OS to make the changes on, sorry.

Hi gm9,
tried it with openoffice 2.4 on xp sp3.
Nothing happens there, either.
Thanks for your answers.

OpenOffice will not work since it is incompatible with MS Office VBA scripting.

Hi there,
thx for the info.
Tried it on XP SP2 with Excel 2002 SP3.
Same error message as in first post.
Do not know why, because the 2 computers have different installations.

Lol ok, XP SP2 and Excel 2003 SP3 is what I have at the office, and having no issues with it. This morning's update was written on Excel 2000 and I had recently retested on Excel 2007 without issues.
Do you guys maybe have Virus Scanners that block VBA code or something?
Grr, why did I ever have the bad idea to write this tool in MS Office VBA...

Hi gm9,
thx for the new version.
Short: Nope.
Long: Same error message as in first post, even with deactivated Virusscanner.
Using Antivir Premium.

An other problem could be your security options for macros inside Office / Excel.
Depending on your settings no unsigned macros will be run. Even without asking / waring you that there are macros that are suppressed.
Try to check your options for macro security. Best would be to set it to medium (ask you every time).

No, no optional office/VBA components should be necessary for the code. Outside of office, it is calling shell32.dll, ole32.dll and on Office97 systems it would be calling VBA332.DLL as well.
When I have a moment I'll post a version without all path selection code (that's the code doing all these calls above), maybe that's what's tripping it up on your systems since Virus Scanners don't like it or something like that.

Macro Security is set to medium.
So, this is not the problem.

Ok, little update.
Had finally time to test the new version on XP SP3 with Office 2007 SP1, both up to date.
It is working...
But i do not know why.

Yes, the mod is simply an Excel spreadsheet that sets the macro buttons in the group and raid windows in ProfitUI. Detailed instructions can be found here (in the FAQ in gm9's portal).
Not quite sure what to say about the error(s) you get when trying to use it, but it may help to have some idea as to what the error is saying.
