Ventrilo in Vista problem

I had the same problem, I fixed it by running Vent as an administrator (I do not use UAC) and I have a USB microphone. In the windows control panel under devices I selected the properties for my USB microhpone (not a usb headset, just a stand up microphone) and noticed an option called 'give application exclusive control' i turned this off, and it allowed me to use vent and eq2 in vista 64 at the same time.
