Talking Updated Profit question

Ive been using Profit for over a year and just recently manually upgraded to version 4.6.5. I went through all the exact steps that I previously used and it worked fine for over a year, but now nothing. It does not show up on /loadui either. Im not sure if I need to do a full wipe and re-install or what? I dont understand because the same steps were used and checked 3 times when installing this new version. Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the UI and the time you put in it, I have enjoyed it for a long time and hope to be able to continue to. Thanks!

You do need to remember to clear the directory before installing. Your old install had the eq2ui.xml file which is no longer part of custom UIs. If it's still there, things get broken. Also, make sure your eq2.ini in the game install directory has cl_ui_skinname set to ProfitUI and that UI/ProfitUI has your installation in it (ProfitUI has to be installed there, not elsewhere).

Ok, so lemme check before I do this. Are you saying to completely clear the Everquest2--> UI folder? This includes the default UI (which does have the eq2ui.xml you mention)? Want to make sure before I do that so I can avoid a complete reinstall if possible. Thanks for your reply too btw!

Not the entire UI folder, just the ProfitUI folder located under the UI folder.

For example: C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest II\UI\ProfitUI

Yes, I did that one twice now, but it didn't work. And I did check my .ini file to make sure everything is placed correctly. The file that tknarr mentions ( eq2ui.xml ) is in the Default folder of the Everquest2 UI folder. Should I delete that one file ( eq2ui.xml ) or?? I just don't get what I'm doing wrong, I've never had problems before and I'm missing my PROFIT! Thanks for the replies!

No, leave the default folder alone.

If you are a long time user I assume you understand the installation instructions and did extract to the correct folders. But just to be sure - have you tried reinstalling the version you previously used and did that work? If it doesn't, read the installation instructions once more.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

EXCELLENT! I got it. I had tried to create a ProfitUI folder under my EQ2 UI directrory which is were it was not working. I instead let the .zip file create it (ProfitUI folder) upon extraction and all is well now! Thanks a ton for everyones assistance and for the superb UI!
