Default Problems With Titles And Others

GU#40 really hit me hard. After downloading the new update, I had to manually patch ProfitUI like always, since my computer won't run the Auto Updater. Well, I STILL can't get that skills window up, and a bunch of the titles are messed up. Here's what my interface looks like on normal:

Here's the interface with all the backgrounds showing:

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

One thought: did you do a clean install? The 4.3 series (GU40-compatible) changed a lot of things because SOE changed a lot of things in the UI XML. If you have a leftover eq2ui_mainhud.xml file, for example, things may not work right, especially since some of the ProfitUI things moved internally and need to not be loaded from eq2ui_mainhud.xml anymore. I found the easiest way to get it right was to rename my UI/ProfitUI folder, clear out one character's UI settings and do a clean install from scratch, then reset the window locations on that one clean character and load those UI settings into my other characters.

Thank you for the reply, Tknarr, but I'm not sure I understand all the way. Are you telling me to delete everything with eq2ui_mainhud in the beginning of the filename, or rename all the UI and ProfitUI folders, clear out one character's UI settings (like it says to do when first installing ProfitUI), and then reinstall ProfitUI?

I think he is basically suggesting that you delete your ProfitUI folder/directory in addition to backing uo your uisettings file (<SERVER>_<CHARACTER>_eq2_uisettings.ini, located in your base EQ2 directory), then proceed with reinstalling the UI with a fresh set of up to date files.

More the second than the first. Don't touch the UI folder itself, just rename the ProfitUI folder within it to something else (you want it as a backup), clear at least one character's UI settings (to insure no corruption there), then install ProfitUI from the latest download as per the instructions (you'll create a new ProfitUI folder under the UI folder). That way you can guarantee there's no outdated files from an older Profit version mixed in messing things up.

Tknarr, ShadowProwler420, thanks a bunch! I'll let you guys know if it works. =)

EDIT: It does work! The new look is pretty cool, too.

Basically follow the installation instructions (see my sig). You screenshots also show that you did not turn off the widescreen letterbox, which leads to some issues as well.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.
