Alas, I have the same problem. And unfortunately, I don't get what you mean with the 7x5 thingie...

Either there is nothing beneath the seventh icon, or I am blind, stupid or both...

Besides that... how can I run EQ2 without Extreme UI once Extreme UI has been installed?
