Your error indicates that the connection to the updater server has timed out (your pc did not receive an answer to its request in time). This might have one of the following reasons:
1) The connection to the update server is firewalled. Check your pc and your router for firewalling.
2) The EQ2MAP server may have been unavailable at the time. Try again.
3) Something blocked the connection to the server. Try again, if it is still there ping maps.eq2interface.com and post your result.

I think I figured it out. I run security shield 2007 on my computer and if I unload it and continue with current security level I am able to connect. Even though I allow it through the firewall aparently there is some function of the program that is being blocked by the firewall. As soon as it is done downloading the updates I reload my security and am able to run system normal. Thanks for the help.
