Different UI for each Character?

I'm looking for a tool that will allow me to set up a different UI for each character.

Is there a way to load a UI based off of which character you choose?

The situation I'm stuck with is, that I like one UI skin, while my wife likes one that I hate.

Anyone else have to work with a situation like this?

Option 1: Run EQ2 from different folders.

Quickest option 2: make a batch file to switch ini files.

Hubby.bat:

Code:

copy hubbyeq2.ini eq2.ini /y

BetterHalf.bat:

Code:

copy wifeeq2.ini eq2.ini /y

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

I"ll be able to set it up to prompt for you to select hubby or wife, and then make the file copy based off of that. Then I'll have it launch the game.

I'm sure this method will work until somebody comes out way to do this based off of which character you load. I would like to use different mods for different characters.
But this is a minor problem compared to selecting different UI's for different people, which a solution was already suggested by Deathbane.

Have you tried this UI switching program? It might be more complicated than you want and I don't know if it still works but it's worth a try.

my lady and i enjoy different UI mods, so i've just made a shortcut on my desktop to eq2.ini ... i just change the ui name on there to mine, and presto! i put it to the other UI when i'm done and my girl doesn't have to deal with any hassles.
