Sometimes that chat window poof on me also and I have no idea why. I suspect it's still an issue with SOE and their chat window code but no sure.

At this time if you are U.S. based or you installed EQ2 using us_en you can just run the installer and that's all you have to do. If you are not U.S. based or installed with some other language you will have a LP_REGION_??_?? (?? = two letters not ?? in the file name) directory in the base EQ2 directory. Set that directory as you base EQ2 directory.
