Longtime bug.
I've had this bug for a while, but didn't say anything because I thought it may just be me. I recently got a friend to start playing and he's having the same problem. We both use an up to date fetish nightfall skin.
Often when moving around zones the POIs will carry on to another zone. I see this most often when exiting Enchanted Lands. Also, when moving around in a zone that has more then one map associated with it, if I close the map and reopen it it'll show the wrong map but of the same zone. For instance Ruins of Varsoon, when moving west to another section and closing the map, upon reopening it will show the east portion of the map set. The same has happened in Commonlands.
I'm willing to work with you guys to get this fixed if necciary.

You would be better checking in the Fetish nightfall thread here.
The eq2map team have little or no input on the fetish UI and i know zonx is working on updating the fetish skinned version to work with the latest eq2map updates.

This has been going on nearly since the begining of eq2maps, and I haven't always used nightfall.

If I remember correctly, I believe this issue was reported to being caused by the use of the plugin/addon which allows you to view any map regardless what zone you're in.
From what I've noticed, it usually gets fixed when you change zones or camp and return to game. I know either of these fixes may be annoying and/or time consuming, but I don't know of any other way to fix things when it happens, unless you don't use the plugin/addon altogether (assuming, of course, you ARE using it).

This is not a bug with eq2map its a bug with a 3rd party addon.

I finally got fedup with the issue and just stopped using the View Any Map plugin. It wasn't worth the hassle for the occasional map flip.

The current fetish nightfall map has no map selector that I'm aware of. I'll use the default map tho and report back.
___________
Ok, so I put the default map in there and ran the eq2map updater. It downloaded a new map file. I logged in to check it out, and find out it's the same map I've been seeing and having thiese problems with. I did notice that it has a non functional map selector at the bottom when moused over. I didn't think anything but the mainhud_map file could cause this to be on the map window, but decided to load the complete default UI with just the files eq2map updater loaded into it. I was suprised to see that the non functional map selector was gone.
Now my question is, what file is causing this?

Are you sure about that? I recently tried out the complete nightfall package and one one of the features i thought was quite interesting was the dropdown map selector at the bottom of the map screen.

Fetish Nightfall, Fetish Classic and the Fetish Maps piece all include the VAM plugin.
As has been well documented in all 3 support threads... the VAM plugin produces this issue due to a limitation in the current EQ2Map's plugin support. The team is in the process of addressing this limitation.
The VAM plugin includes a mechanism to correct the problem in game when it occurs, simply select the correct map and hit the "S" button on the right.
To avoid the problem, close the map window before crossing an auto-swap line in a multi-map zone.
If you still find the plugin to be more hassle than its worth, open plugin_4.xml in your eq2map directory with Notepad and delete all the code in the file.

I realise now that I was wrong, I never noticed it because it only appeared when the map window was hovered over
Thanks for the explanation btw Zonx, and sorry to everyone else for the hassle.

Glad I found this thread.
I did not realise this had been happening before.
I have been using Fetish Classic for many months (forget exactly how many) and never had this problem until a couple weeks ago. My maps mess up usually when I change zones and it is random and usually happens after 3 or 4 zone changes. Correct map is always there, but POI's are from last zone and current zone, but I can only select the last zone's POI's.
Anyhow, it seems to be ok with Zonx's fix above. 8-)
