TK Undead Gothic Theme for EQ2 update
T.King Undead Theme 1.0.2005 - coming soon!
I wanted to let everyone know with the latest patch out of the way, I'm working on this theme for EQ2. I don't have an ETA, other than "soonish", so please stay tuned for updates.
Designer notes:
Like all of my other images, every detail is hand-splined, and all textures are hand-painted.
Below is an example of this theme showing interface parts from both WoW and EQ1.

Looking good T.King, cant wait!
Just a suggestion for the hotbars. In EQ2 the hotbars (spell bars) most people use 3+ because you can have every spell at your finger tips. So I'm not sure how well the skull end caps will work when most people stack hotbar to hotbar.

Very nice work as always Mr King
But to quote what Dolby said, yes that will be a problem... But! if you place the endcaps in maybe the frame and have just the bone outline in the normal view then peeps can turn off frame on the other hotbars and stack them then just have the frame (skulls endcaps) visible on the top or bottom hotbar... Just a thought

Very very nice. In eq1 I LOVED steamworks and kept watching and watching for someone to port over some of your old interface pieces. Fenix did, with the arcane orbs. But It's not my favourite that you had done.
I always wondered, did metalworks ever get finished? I left eq1 last year... was still using a modified version of steamworks at the time... I'll probably jump on this one in eq2 the moment it's available.
Very beautiful work. Keep it up!

Looks nice and gothic Wish I could do that..
I like the skull endcaps. Alot of peopel use one hotbar *boggle*. But if you wanted to stack them you could always have them turned off by turning off the frame.

Well as he stated they are examples from EQ1 and WoW, but whoo! Can't wait to see some great interfaces release from you. I know you will have many supporters of them.

Since this UI is still in progress, suggestions would be a good thing. What additional functions to you find useful?

Kuvasie! Wow, the old players are popping up. It is nice to see that.
Hotbar smoothly stacking is something that is needed as there is not a "spell bar" per se in the UI. I think the skulls could be utilized on a stat bar placed at the bottom.
Since EQ2 is a lot more graphic intensive as EQ1(or EQLive), I am not able to play at 1600X1200 anymore. So I think screen space needs to be wieghed.
I for one would like to see in the future a alignment based theme. One nice and colorful, maybe similiar to TKings Angelic Theme for Qeynos
and maybe a darker theme for Freeport (Orc Skulls?. Until then, I calmly wait for what is done with the beautiful work on the Undead Theme.
Thank You Tom, Cairenn, Kuvasie and the rest of the crew for coming to EQ2!

Just popping in to show a screenshot of the Undead Gothic Knowledge Book in-game. The skinnng is going very well with the talented and dedicated crew I'm working with. The chat borders look fantastic with this theme! it's all working out surprisingly well. It shouldn't be too much longer now before this is released.
(btw, thank you so much for the warm welcomes and kind words! we're very happy to be back doing this for you all!)

Welcome TKing =)
I have always loved your work, though with the extreem hard issues of UI use in EQ2 =( they made it hard to be switching between UI's like in EQ1. but I welcome your art back as I have always loved it and always will. You are a Master at your art and though I use Laff's UI I do mod it slightly so a few suggestions that may have been stated:
1) make interface pieces independant of the UI please (some have code that is just for the one UI)
2) I play in 1600 by 1200 so please if you make a full UI make it fit that res as well as others. (I'm sure some others do play in that res)
3) any complete UI you make please make it as slim as possible and still have your GREAT artwork =) (I do love a large view as i'm playing
4) no matter what you hear please by all means take your time but also realize that EQ2 changes UI pieces very often, usually in many pieces during a Live Update.
5) not a request by a big Thank You and Welcome back to EQ UI design. I am glad you're back!
I hope these aren't too much to ask for =) and if you need help formatting to a 1600 by 1200 screen let me know I'll get a set up ini for ya but i can't edit xml or skin a ui so all i can do is position the windows in the way you want and send the ini file.

Awesome mod, just started using it today, I'm missing some of the buttons that I liked in my other UI where I could enable nightvision and togglebags and all that, will those extras ever be featured as maybe, addons?

Target Window
I love this mod! Is there a way to reduce the size of the target window? Alos, when I log out and back in, the group window "vanishes" and I have to hit the alt g to get it back. Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch!
