Sounds like an issue with your window placements file.
1.) right click the window and choose window settings then click reset placement and opacity
2.) redo your window placements file if the first one doesn't work. (Be sure to back it up first though)

Note: the black background is only supposed to cover the chat area (for example, i didn't set it to be behind the chat tabs)

I have a problem with my chat windows. The dark background only goes up to 80 of the back of the window. I have reinstalled more than once and get the same problem. It makes chat hard to read at the top. I've tried changing my chat widows settings but it hasn't helped. Any ideas?
