Default EQ2 Maps won't load

Ok, files are where they belong, in the new UI folder, AmiralUI.
I tried both examples of the eq2.ini file
Still loads old Antonica map

What am I doing wrong?

Well the map is the same, but it should have POI's overlayed onto it.

Having trouble with maps as well. My problem is different though. After patch my custom UI stopped working. I was using Averad. I put the Nedra UI in and then just got different pieces that I wanted to change. I tried putting the maps in but when I log in my screen is black. I can see my hotbars and chat windows and such but can't see the world. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong. Is it possible that I just have so conflicting pieces. I'd be greatful any input. Thanks.

First I'll need to know if you two are using the auto-updater or the traditional (self install) zip version.

Only seeing the default EQ2 maps in-game usually means you installed it incorrectly.

A black screen (and messed up UI windows) usually means some XML files are missing or in the wrong place.

If either of you are using the auto-updater, I suggest making sure you have the newest version, it does all the work for you and is pretty fool-proof. If you have the newest version, try deleting the EQ2MAP folder and re-updating. If you're using the zip file, the _mapinfo.txt has a troubleshooting FAQ that solves most problems pretty reliably.

Also, please attach, or copy&paste the contents of, your eq2.ini file (found in your EverQuest II main folder).

Default Thanks

Thanks so much Quib! Got it working. I just installed the updater which I did not have before and that took care of it. What a great little tool! It's definitely Fool proof
