Moved your post out of the 3 year old thread, please don't necro post...

And to your question, my estimation is that you will see ZERO performance increase. EQ2 is CPU limited - the one graphics card you have is already much more than you will ever need for it. If you want more performance, by a fast single core CPU and faster harddisks.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

i agree completely with gm9
some of the other little tips you can use to help speed up your machine is 1 better cpu/motherboard . associate other programs with other other cores like if you open web pages and use photoshop and WMP at the same time make them use a different core .

also increasing your ram helps ( to a point and depending on what you have type and speed and if you are running xp or vista)

also keeping EQ installed on a seprate HD keeps it from getting less fragmented(some people think they are getting video lag when they are really getting paging lag)

also agreed, unless you're running 64 bit xp, the 4 gig is a waste, I'd upgrade to at least a dual core, if not quad, then you should see performance increases.

If you are four-boxing I guess, since EQ2 only uses a single core (or if you are watching youtube, playing mp3, ripping some DVDs etc. while playing).

PS: the OP already has a dual core.

DUH, that'll teach me not to post while sleeping Anyways, you mean most people don't do 64 other things while playing??? Damn, and here I am designing blueprints, webpages, and various other silly things while I play!

I do see your point tho.
