Default Re-Skinning

Not sure if this is the proper place as I've done very little posting here.

I have a base UI thats got a specific skin. I want to add in some things and reskin them to look the same as the rest of the UI. I've searched for tutorial, skin, skinning, etc and haven't been able to find the 'tutorial' on reskinning that I've seen people say is about.

Could anyone provide me with a link on how to reskin addon's to match the UI? Would be much appreciated.

The best bet and the safe round is to "reskin" SOE's base skin. Like commonelemnts, framestyles etc.

In each mod you will see a folder called data. In that folder you will see a style. For example the dropdown object uses /CommonElements.dropdown.data.style. If you change the images and text that the style links to any dropdown that uses SOE's dropdown style will take on the new look.

I use to make my own but after much thought and debate (with my self) I have decided its best to just reskin SOE's styles. That way the game isn't haven't to load in to style sets plus if a user of my skin wants to drop in a third party mod it will most likely have the look of my skin and not default.

There isn't one that I know of.

Basically all you to is change the images to the images you want.

Each style links to one or more images. For most frames you will have 9 images. NW,N,NE,W,Center,E,SW,S and SE images. You will change these images to the images you want to use and BLAM, that frame will now look like the one you made. Of course it's not gonna be that easy the first time you do it, but it will become second nature after you have done it three or four times.

Don't you have to size the images or tweak them a bit to fit them just right?
