Echoes Of Faydwer Nda Lifted!!
The beta NDA for EoF was lifted this evening as per a post in the Official News and Announcement forums on everquest2.com. Let the mapping begin!
In other words, how soon can I start submitting all these lovely POI's I've been scribbling down while beta testing?

I have the xml updated for eq2map.. was testing it this morning with the new zones. SOE was nice enough to provide alot of maps but it may take me a day or two to get them all on the site.
Wanted to finish the poa map but think I'm gonna do this first.

Great news! I just wish I had some kind of idea of what to expect with the new UI changes. I'm going to have my work cut out for me here in a couple of weeks.
Hey, and if anyone has any beta screenshots they'd like to share, that would be fantastic!

Didn't realize that the changes had been pushed to the test server. Updating now. I'll have to check it out in the morning.

I don't know what's on the test server yet. I'm testing in beta, myself.

I have no maps in beta at all. Is this due to eq2map and if so, is there a way to fix it so I can see the new maps for the zones in beta?

delete eq2.ini if eq2map is the only mod you use. Other wise delete eq2ui_mainhud_maps.xml from your custom UI directory.

Well I don't have any special UI, just eq2map. I deleted eq2.ini and it made no difference. I still have no maps in beta. Any suggestions?

I found that by goining into the UI folder (of your beta version of EQ2) and deleting the EQ2Map folder located there, then restarting EQ2, I was able to see the beta mapset.

Updates that allow the EoF maps to work with EQ2map have been pushed live to the patcher. You'll also find all the maps on the website and ready for POI's
I am having some issues getting the custom POI's to show up in Gfay so I'll be working to resolve that problem. It might be because SOE changed the maps to their old Hard Coded style. If thats true I wasted a ton of time creating the underlay files. Anyways I'll figure it out. Gfay also has a alot of _0, _1, _3 so that the city map doesnt show up when your on a high hill and that might be messing up the icon files. However I do have the subzone flag in our code to copy the icons to those other mapstyles.
Time to catch some Zzzz's
