Question Macro to remove maintained spell?

Not so much an UI question but wasn't sure where else to ask.

If I use my FD item Gigglegibbers' Secret of Death or the like, is it then possible to remove the effect again via a macro along the lines of

/Remove_spell Gigglegibbers' Secret of Death ?

I actually have 3 FD items as a tinker with various success %ages and if the first one miss I don't have time to go through my maintained spell list to find the icon, right click it, choose cancel and then cast the next FD item. It would be much nicer to just be able to click the next macro which cancels the previous FD effect and casts the next.

Hope you can help.

There is a slash command to cancel a maintained buff, however its parameter is an array element index which is unsynced with what is displayed in the actual maintained buffs window.

I have not tested to see if it is the case, but it probably works like this:
0=Buff A
1=Buff B
2=Buff C
3=Buff D

You start out with a sync'ed list. When Buff D gets added, it gets added at index 3. Now say that Buff B gets removed for whatever reason, then Buff E is added. Now while the UI shows the buffs as A, C, D and E, the internal array might look like:
0=Buff A
1=Buff E
2=Buff C
3=Buff D

So visually Buff E is the 4th one, but if you tried to use the command to cancel index 3, you would get rid of Buff D instead. The UI can check buff names and find their position on the window, but it will only be the visual position. It won't know any better than you do what the internal array looks like to use the EQ2 command properly.

So in other words, my idea just went out the window?

Would have been nice though as I'm a conjuror and I use up almost all of my 5 slot limit (those blue-icons in your HP/Mana window) and I need to cancel some if I want to use the purchable charm items from the city-merchant. Not quite possible in a crunch so would have been nice to be able to cancel them via a macro.

Thanks for the explanation though.

Seems they're adding a workable command with GU52.

That sounds perfect. Where did you read that? I didn't see anything in the GU52 test update notes.

You can now cancel a maintained spell by using /cancel_maintained spell name.
