your problem is caused by running windows at a non standard DPI.the updater will still download all the updates,you just cant see the whole screen. the next version will be resizeable for people who wish to use non-standard dpi settings. if you set your computer to display at the standard (96dpi) you will see the whole screen.

Hello, I just recently downloaded this wonderful mod. I absolutely love it. Unfortunately I have begun to crash very frequently. It will usually crash to the char select screen when zoning, but have often crashed to desktop. Sometimes it will do this when not zoning, but it is usually zoning. Some nights are worse than others, crashing 10 time in 1 hour. I had about 14 other UI mods prior to this that ran fine. As of tonight I have unistalled this great MOD and feel salty about it. I was wondering if others are having this problem or what I can do to fix it. Thanks

First, thx for all the hard work.

I have found a problem withe map for the rumbler caves instance zone. It appears that the map is actually linking to the map for the pirate's stash instance zone rather than the rumbler caves zone. The map is totally wrong for rumbler caves, as are the POIs; however, if I remember correctly, these look like the map and correct POIs for pirate's stash. (Been a while since I was in pirate's stash, but it looks about right.)

Just wanted to let someone know.

EDIT : FORGET MY POST .... I had the German version patched to US one. Found the post what folders you have to transfer to LP_Region_EN_US and where to place eq.ini and how to adjust the patcher.

Hi,

cant get the maps to work 8(. I dowloaded the EQ map uppdater. It patches maps, starts eq2 but still no new maps there....eg. no map for Nek Castle.

The patcher seemed to create a EQ2.ini inside my EQ2 folder and I also have a EQ2 map folder in my UI folder. Started the game 3 x throught the EQ map uppdater no Nek Castle Map 8(. What am I doing wrong ?

same thing, replaced .ini.. followed everything pretty much, and still can not get it to update, most would have given up by now, but others i know use it and enjoy it... please help..!

something is blocking the updater from connecting to the webserver to get the update. make sure you properly configure any firewalls you have.

I posted on the 17/04/2005, for some strange reason EQ2MAP was not working.

Then yesterday after the latest patch, I click on M in game and woah IT'S WORKING.

This map functionality is simply fantastic.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the time and effort you guys put into creating EQ2MAP, I've played with it for about an hour and I know that my game experience is going to be significantly improved.

I also have this problem. I can only see the top left of the window, like the frame is too small for the picture.

i am aware of the isue and it will be corrected in the next version however i am real busy (from when my hard drive crashed).

When I travel through Rivervale, going to the east, the map does not follow me if I go along the north road. If I go through the southern road it switches to the east map just fine. I haven't determined where exactly it stops switching maps, but I just noticed it while doing some quests there.

P.S. I love your mod by the way! You are my hero!

Great mod, once you've used it you cant live without it.

My problem is I cant submit POI's. I guess I have to click the button on the updater to submit a POI? If thats the case then I just get an error message posted below. If im doing something wrong then please let me know as I must have missed something.

Something very odd is happening for me - in Rivervale, if I cross from the entry-part of the map to the second part of the map (bascially to the drafling tower and the lamia's/nightbloods) and I do this via the top part of the map, it will keep displaying the entry part.

If however I move to the second part of the map on the bottom half of it, it will change...

Anyone else noticed this oddness?

I've tried deleting all the maps and PoI's and redownloading them, I've tried deleting the UI completely and reinstalling it, and this is still happening...

Tried to use it once I got home from work, still halts at 86%. Arggh what a pain it is to play without the maps!

I'm out of ideas on what else to try. Spoke to my guildies and they have no problems whatsoever with updating. So I guess its a local problem that I have to figure out.

the maps are supposed to be at:

D:\Everquest II\UI\EQ2MAP (which is the dir I use)

And the EQ2.ini should look like:

cl_ui_skinname EQ2MAP
cl_ui_subdir UI/

Thats all that should affect the maper right? Nothing is write protected and I put everyone to full access to the EQ2 folder (not inheriting any access from higher directories)

edit:
Tried using the updater for the test server, and that also halts on 86%, and I've never ever connected to the test server nor have I installed any UI or anything at all to that folder that contains the test server files.

edit2:
Tried using /setupdatefolder and chose a empty folder to update into. But it still freeze at 86% on the icons_blackburrow_2.xml

Hi!

I have gone through every post on this thread and found similar problems to mine, but no solution that worked for me...

When I launch EQ2MAP updater (ver. 0.97 Beta) I get this:

Error Getting File List:
The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server.

I am behind a ISA2004 firewall. I have tried to follow the xml-link like some post mentioned and I get a new window with the XML-coding. If I choose "save target as", I can download the file.

I have updated to .NET framework latest beta. I have closed XP firewall.

Here comes the funny part:

In the interface there is a webpage that cannot be displayed, and when refreshing it still don't show up, so I followed the link to http://maps.eq2interface.com/updates.html in my browser and the page showed up as normal. Now when I refresh the page in the interface it showes up, but when I close the updater and restarts it same thing all over....

I have checked the logs in ISA and only get the WinSock 1745 that is not allowed, no change if I enables it. Nothing else seems to be blocked.

Where exactly is the updater going when you press the "Update"-button? i would like to check if I can get a manual connection there.

Any suggestions?

I am now using the manual map, but I would like the updates to work too.

Something very funny happened today...

I've been trying for a couple of weeks to get this working, and finally yesterday I took my time to post my problem on the forum.

Guess what? Today it just worked :P

I guess the program got scared when posting on the forum or something - well, thx for a nice mod,

now I will log into EQ and give it a try

Hi....fantastic mod.

I am running the 0.97beta updater but cannot see my group members in the map window. If I happen to mouse over their location, I do see the tooltip with their name, but I cannot see the number icon.

I did see the previous post about this, but believe I am current. Is there a particular file I need to delete before updating again?

I installed EQ2Map Updater (Version 0.97 Beta), also the dotnetfx on my notebook and i get this error message:

Error Getting File List:
The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.

Any ideas? It works fine on my PC's, but not on the notebook.

i can tell you its not the server, its a setting you have on your computer that is preventing the updater from getting the file list, which is an xml file from the maps.eq2interface.com website. as i dont know how your computer is set up i cant tell you what is causing the problem, only that it is some setting on your computer.
