Small request...maybe a stupid one. Is there any possibility of getting the current version number added to the opening spash screen?

Probably sounds stupid, but sometimes I can't remember the last time I downloaded an update and that would be an easy way to know, if you added the version number to the intro spash screen.

Regardless, I love this UI. Thanks for all the hard work Zonx.

P.S. I searched and could find anywhere where someone had already requested this, so if I missed it, I'm sorry.

For the people coming over from the Download forum, here is the answer for the "only 1 chat window" problem (and a bunch of other related problems, like wandering bags between saves, etc)). Its not a custom UI thing that causes this; its a long known Sony bug, and they have yet to fix it .

What happens is the settings on the server corrupt the character.ini file on your disk. So download a Character.ini replacement file from the downloads area, and it should work. Directions are in the thread below that download - follow the link (the original source for this fix was another thread and it got cross posed to here - I just gave it its own DL area, so its easier to find if you need it again).

It seems this got worse after update 10 and all the tinkering with the fonts by SOE.

But that file should help. My advice is once you get things where you like them, copy the ini file out as a "known good" and use it next time your file gets corrupted (or copy it in evey time jsut before youstart your game)

The UIs you have made rock they are so much better then the default. But I have a few questions, want to know if i have done something wrong.
I first tried the classic only there was a problem with 2 gold lines cutting my screen into 3rds (i like full screen so the blackened part is minized.
Is there some control or option i have missed to get ridof it?
Then I tried nightfall (my fav and want to stick with it) but for some reason on my chat windows when i go to type the typeing space goes up but the space where the text is does not. So now i can not tell what i am typeing because the text in the back ground is comming threw.
Is there something i can do to correct either one of these problems. I really do not want to go back to default.

You will want to check yoru pre-existing test uisettings file for total correct name usage. Make a backup of the current settings file (rename it) and replace that one with a copy of your live uisettings file, then rename to match the old test uisettings name

Does anyone know what files to change or copy over for the skill window to use the default one for now? I tried just putting the eq2ui_mainhud_skills File over and it shows the new window but no skills list inside of it...

Sorry dont mean to sound stupid or rude (but i am i guess) but the doc file meant nothing to me, it might as well have been in french. I know your saying well its right there in black and white so just read. But much like anything you have never messed with (at least me) your just never sure about what your doing until you have seen it or done it. Much like working on an aircraft, if i were to give you the manual and a tool set and tell you to go fix the #2 dampener then you too would be where i am. So dont bonk me if i ask for a little more help with this one ok?

The options for the screen are in the main options for video (can't remember exactly where) but there is an option for increasing or decreasing the widesceen effect, but is definately on the options tab on the main EQ2 button.

for your other problem with the chat windows the easiest option for you is download and install the "fetish customiser" from the Utilities section in downloads on this site. This will let you change options without needing to delete, move or rename any files. On the chat option you need to set away from default to "simple chat" IIRC.

I hope this solves your problems.

You don't know how gratefull I am that you spend the time doing this and available for free too. as I am sure it takes a great deal of time to get right and the updates are always available shortly after SOE decides to screw everything up again

I think I'm having a problem with 4.3 When I mouseover (or EXAMINE for that matter) any non-quest reward loot (armor and weapons) I can no longer see the stats. Everything else shows in the window except for the +3 wis etc etc stats. A friend is still using 4.2 and he can see all stats on items. I'm not saying the mod is causing the problem, but the only thing different between the setup that my friend and I use is that he uses 4.2 and I use 4.3. We don't use any other mods. Relogging temporarily fixed the problem for me, but I think when I zoned once I lost the stats again.

Would like to see if it is possible to add an access house vault button to the Store window. That way my dumb butt can stop exiting my room all the time by mistake.

Would like to see the 6 wide bags by jaxel at 75% in nightfall skin..

Is it possible to have the broker window have a buy all button or a buy 20 or maybe it would just click the buy button 20 times?

Using a caster start button by jaxel, love a couple of the features on this, well just one feature really, but it makes me keep the whole thing. I love to nightvision button it makes it worth keeping the whole bulky start strip on the screen. Is it possible to switch things in inventory, like I where my journeyman boots most of the time running around but I need my ebon in battle, is there a way to click and button and have then switch if they were in a certain slot in my bags? Would like to see this start button reskinned, with just a nightvision button and a hot swap button for boots and maybe a weapon switch would be cool too.

Would love to see something done with the chat window, it is really cool that the scoll bar goes away when your mouse is not in the chat area, but it sucks when I'm running and trying to type as I just hit enter and the bottom bar does not show up. I'm typing over the text that is there unless the mouse is in the box. Just would like it if I was typing to have the line there.

Last but not least I'm using a shut down that is by someone I can not even find anymore, he made it with 12 slots for names and I editted it for my name and server, so now I do not have to go to the toon select screen I just hit the button with whatever toon I want, it waits the 20 seconds and logs onto the new toon. Would like this on nightfall style

Let me add a heaarty AOL-style "Me Too" to this request. IM using the 6 wide 75% mod by Jaxel and Goldi's button for bags, helm, graphics setting on the fly, and "nightvision".

If they would agree, Id love to see them "Fetish-ized" for inclusion with Fetish Nightfall.

And someone beat tme to the punch with the configurator. I have one half coded in C# (jsut to teach myself C#.net). Maybe I should have written in in Perl/Tk or Python/wxWin - heh, would have had one done in 2 hours that way.

Last I checked, Goldi's startbutton was fetish compatible. Check her thread, she states it somewhere.

And the Fetish Customizer really just lets you switch between fetish provided alternates.
the bags should be pretty simple. Open Fetish bags alongside jaxelbags, and search for all the styles/rstyledefaults etc, replace everything so that is says /fetish.blahblablah. Fetish gives a how-to i think in the doc somewhere

Jonni, nothing in the mod changes the standard item icon tool-tips. I didn't even change the text style. If you're getting eratic behavior, its a SOE issue or something about your machine.

Casper, reponses to your requests:

1) House Vault button in store window might be possible but only works inside your house and would remain visible at a broker. I'l add this to my list of possible tweaks. EQ2s transaction system my make it impossible to open the vault without opening the house window via right-click.

2) Basic reskining instructions are in the doc file. Bags are possibly the easiest window to reskin since the only real difference between a 4 and 6 wide bag is the slot locations. I may get around to this myself if no one beats me to it

3) "Jaxel's" start button mod is actually one of several reworks of prior start buttons (mostly based off work by Kosmos). I recomend Goldi's version skined for Fetish. If that doesn't quite work for you, you can prbly use that as a model for reskinning Jaxel's version. I don't include this as a standard option since the tweaker prog would further complicate the install

4) Chat window: read the docs. Titlebar on = no input stealthing. There's also an optional "Simple" file included with no stealthing at all. Finally there's Oeric's addon version that only stealths the scrollbar. That should cover just about every permutation requested

5) Shutdown mod I believe is by Deathbane. Again this mod isn't included as a standard piece since it would further complicate the install, requiring folks to edit the character list. Also, if I'm not mistaken (apology in advance to DB if I am) this mod requires you to hard code your password into a file, which poses a security risk I'm not willing to make standard for all my users. You certainly welcom to reskin his mod and post it as an addon

Didn't spot this tile after I posted the 4.3 update...

SOE's skill window contained 2 minor typos that result in 2 progress bars apreaing as black. If you care to corect this, open eq2ui_mainhud_skills.xml in Notepad.

Change

I'm sure this is documented somewhere been lookin acn't seem to find it. So here goes my breth and progrees bar or window whatever is gone tried reseting windows and it is still gone can not find these windows underwater adventure is pretty much impossible beings that im a ranger. and tips or fix use Fetish Nightfall and do not wish to use any other I have always been missing this window and i have downloaded the latest patch as well. all works besides these windows. Try temporarily reverting to the default UI. If they don't show up there, you prbly have a corcupted server_character_settings.ini file and will need to download a replacement from this site. There's a copy in the download section and also attached to a post in the FetishClassic support thread.

First off I love the UI

My first problem is that every time I log in to the game the UI does not load automatically. I have to load it up using the /loadui. Any way I can have it just load up up on its own?

The other problem is that I have a main chatbar for chat and a seperate chatbar that I put on the other side of the screen for combat log information, etc. When the game loads up without Nightfall its there, but when I load up the UI its gone. Anyway I can make that stay?

EDIT: Solved- THe problem was that in my eq2.ini the entries were backward. I had cl_ui_subdir UI/ listed fiirst, but when I switched the order now the UI loads normally and the extra chat bar is where I want it

I'm sorry if this was asked before..but I didn't see it.
First let me say I love this UI, it's the only one I use!!! Thank you very much for all your hard work.

My problem is when I go to setup merchant mode I have to reassign everything in my main inventory to be up for sale. Everything already has a price associated to it. This can be a huge pain since I usually have 5-6 24 slot boxes full of stuffs.

Do you know what causes this? Is there a fix or am I just being lazy and not wanting to reassign everything?
