Note also that the parser always lists
C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\eq2_recent.ini
as the location of the eq2_recent.ini
I then change this to D:\Sony\EverQuest II\eq2_recent.ini to reflect my install location.
Could this also default the Parser to place the newly generated custom .xml files in the same directory?

Ok thanks. Ger may have to look at this, since he made the parser.
This might be a bug with the program due to a non-default directory.
since you are on the D: drive.
I'm not sure.
So when you load the program are you browsing to the root directory for your eq2.recent.ini files.
It might be a bug with that selection process since it's not on C: drive.
Thanks for bringing that to our attention!

Yep, you found a bug. Thanks!
C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\Custom\eq2ui_custompreset.exe
Execute the program and click profile 1. Go!
Saves the file in C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\Custom\eq2ui_custompreset1.xml
C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\Custom\eq2ui_custompresets.exe
Run the program and navigate to D:\eq2_recent.ini
(I had put a file here to navigate to for testing)
Click GO. and the parser saves the XML file to
D:\eq2ui_custompreset1.xml
Something about navigating from a root directory in my case caused it to save in another directory other than itself.
Basically if you change the navigation it will save the XML file to the same directory where you selected the eq2_recent.ini file.
So you will have to move the files over as you did.
Ger will have to fix this one.

Only way I can fix that is to add an output folder selection dealie. So that's what I did. Defaults to C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI. Select your custom folder from there.
P.S. That's right boys and girls, that means you can put the parser anywhere you want now.
Edit: See post below for new parser version. Now with config file!

I got fancy. Added a config file feature. The parser will now remember settings from one session to the next. (I bet you were dying for this but didn't want to ask, eh Laffs? )

Well thanks for the complement Skuall I really love the feedback.
Im' not sure what you are asking though. can you be more specific?
I think you will see these buttons showing up on a few mods in the future perhaps one will fit your style better. It's nice to see so many people already figuring ways to work these into their own UIs.
Wait till you see what I got comming up next!

Thanks for the update ger. I'll check it out tomorrow.
I'm 99% sure that Microsoft has directions on thier website on how to create a wrapper for you parser that will do a silent install of the .net framework parts that you need.
You might want to look into that.
I guess since we havn't heard from those users that that was the solution to the problem with the .EXE file.

Hope this is a simple stupid question that you can answer quickly, as I would love to be using your Mod:
I can't seem to get the hud window to appear. It did appear once, at boot up, but since then, try as I might, I cannot seem to get it to come up. Any ideas?
Thanks a ton

it's probably a conflict with another mod, or you just accidentally moved it off screen and or set it to transparent.
If you are using the auto show version it should come up automatically.
If you are not using the autoshow version you have to type the command to get it to show up.
If you are using any other eq2.startbutton.com mods it would probbaly break mine.

Thanks Ger you fixxed my problem too!!! one quick question though.. Anyway for me to relabel the mouseovers for the Presets?? i'm not really sure of myself when it comes to choppin up code, as simple as it may be ROFL.. If you can tell me what i need to change, i can do that, but i'm not just gonna give things a shot.. also i do not use the startbutton.xml as i have a stat bar that uses that window, so its just blank there.. Is there anyway to get it to autoload w/o using this file? Let me know what i need to do. Thanks
Great Mod!!!

Each custompreset file contains two definitions that tell it what to display as a tooltip. Open then XMLs one at a time in Notepad and do a find for "ToolTip" and "LocalToolTip". Change the entry in "s after it and you'll have changed the tooltip. (I had considered using custom tooltips, but it didn't seem like a huge priority with only 3 presets.)

I need to take a look at the current startbutton XML that you are using.
After reading your post again though, It's probably going to be difficult for to give you what you ask because the statpanel that you are using has probably changed the startbutton in big ways.
That is the very reason I why I include the non-auto showing panel.
The non auto-showing panel that is included with my file has a line on the startbutton XML like <include>eq2ui_mainhud_performancepanel.xml</include>
Take that line out of the StartButton XML. and put it in the eq2ui_mainhud.xml file with the other include statements.
This will give you the ability to use my mod along with the startbutton mod that you are using at the monent. It's not going to auto-show though.
I believe Laffs has a version that shows with the compass, and doesn't have the volume icons on it. You might send him a message.
Laffs, If you read this.
There is a new 'ADD ON, PLUGIN' feature on the website, You might want to consider doing the add-on plug in function for my download post, and include the version that has only the three custom buttons attached to the compass window.

Kosmos,
I seen the addin part yes.
The only version I have released at the moment uses 5 buttons 3 preset , your nightvision and shaders off/on And that auto loads up with the group window as it is part of it...
I can do a standalone version of this like np, The compas window was a pain to work with to get the pointer to align to true north again as it looked well in the builder but in game it was 2 degs off lol.
I could always just add the <include> into compas window likes to get it to show.
P.s The 4 that voted "No" in the poll must be dark elves

Awww.. TyeJae didn't like it.
I'm going to have to send him a PM and find out what he specifically didn't like about it. Parhaps I can make a couple of different versions or something eventually.
Funny thing was just yesterday I was looking at the screenshots of his steel bottom mod. And thinking.. We could work those buttons into that thing!
LOL, guess I should scrap that idea. Or maybe post something as an add-on.
I've got somethign else in the works at the moment, nothing earth shattering though.

Well when i installed the mod, i just left out the startbutton.xml file alltogether. And the mod still works awesome!!!.. I absolutely love it, but would just love to have it autoload. I use a compass with zone info already that i got from here, so don't really wanna lose that. i suppose i could get a different mod with the zone info, but not sure i wanna do that yet. I kinda like the way my UI is lookin now, just want it to autoload!! hehe.. well anyway. Here's link to the Stat bar i'm usin in 1280x17

I'm not sure what the best way to do this would be at this time, Sorry.
I suggest just making a macro to turn it on
EDIT:
Laffs may be able to work his mod into this strip!
You should send him a message.

Ricki, Post here either your eq2ui_mainhud_player.xml or the startbutton.xml file and I will edit it for you to get the window to "autoshow" ... either that or if you know how to use the UI builder add this...
show_window=(MainHUD.PerformancePanel) show_window=(MainHUD.PerformancePanel)
To the "OnShow" of any one window that loads up with your UI
player being a one that "autoshow's" startbutton another compass etc
