Default EQ2Map causing FPS to decrease.

Hi.

I recently returned to EQ2 after a couple months and have been trying to get rid of anything that will hinder my FPS.

I downloaded EQ2 map last week and everything was fine. For five minutes. After that, my FPS dropped by around 10 no matter where i went. I tried logging out and back in, and that fixed my FPS problem. For five minutes.

I usually get around 30 almost everywhere, but with EQ2Map i get barely 20.

Is this just something with EQ2Map? or is it me?

I would really like to use this, but if i have to take that big of a hit on my FPS then i'll have to live without it.

Keep in mind your comp is having to render/display a lot more information when using EQ2MAPs vs the default map.

Also with EQ2MAP you have all the zones loaded vs a hand full. So it does use more resources then the default map. So it is quite feasible that it will drop your FPS some but never figured 10+.

Before removing eq2map, I would take a look at the following post...

Well, i decided to try to find this problem one more time.

I downloaded Profit UI (with EQ2Map) instead of using default, and my FPS is higher than ever.

Thanks for the help!

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.
