Great UI. I am using it for the first time today.

Quick question though. How do I turn off any of the windows I bring up with the show_window command. Thought it would be a toggle but it isn't.

Thanks for a great UI though

Replace /show_window With /hide_window

Love the UI! Much more appealing then the default windows. Wish there was a mod for the quest journal (ie. Dogvomit's) and a combined power/inventory window (ie. Insom's) and it would be rockin. I just installed those over the installed ones but would love to see those mods added.

When I load the beta 5, i get no graphics...

currently use beta 3 and no real problems.. but i would like the statbars... when i get them in beta3, they are blank...

I also get HORRENDOUS LAG when i load beta 5..

current config:
ATI Radeon x600 AGP card with 256 Mb RAM
running windowed at 1280x960 resolution
1 Gig System RAM

any help much appreciated.

I LOVE the colors / look of this interface these are my comments that would make it absolutely perfect.

If you could somehow integrate the following mods :

2/3 hotbar
2/3 bags (very important !)
Inventory with stats (basically I+P in one nice window)
XP bar showing both ADV, Tradeskill, zone, debt

It would be perfect. Right now yours is the best looking but i have to go back to my old one as it is more "functional" ? Make sense ?

The smaller hotkeys is in the mods folder..

All the rest I will get around too.. I have works in progress on the Inventory and XP Bars already.. On XP however zone won't be there..

To be perfectly honest I would vote against it. For 1 it would be a large download for dialup users. For another, all those map graphics are kept loaded by the game eating up texture memory. The less graphics the better for a UI.

I wish compressed tga worked in game! Would make the download smaller.. I can always upload it as a addon piece
When I get more of the fantasy set done I will seperate it to 2 downloads..


As for the memory I don't believe it's an issue.. The only that probably sits in memory is the image styles.. The image shouldn't load from the hard disk to memory till its needed.. Then get pushed out of memory when not needed by resources that are needed.. If it doesn't the client has very poor memory!!

I was able to create a chat window that Has Minimize and Restore Buttons..
Also added a button to toggle the input area on and off..
None of it saves when you log out though.. When you log in all chat windows will look normal again.. If you had a minimized window it will be minimum size..

I think it's a good idea NOT to remove the input bar or minimize your mainchat window (IE 1st chat window).. You will no longer be able to bring up the chat input with enter, or '/' , etc..

When the input bar is missin; to resize the window from the bottom you have to grab where the bottom frame would be on the input bar..

Top 2 buttons on upper left of title bar

Ok I fixed the sizing from the bottom bug.. Also, the toggle button now toggles 4 modes:
Mode1:Show Input and Scroll
Mode2:Scroll, No Input
Mode3:Show Input, No Scroll
Mode4:No Input, No Scroll

Test it out and let me know how it works..


Edit: The minimize and restore are acting kinda buggy..
Also there are frames showing under the window that shouldn't be there..
I will fix it later

LOL.. This one window took me about 7 hours to do.. So I'm sure I can't beat you to all the goodies.. I think I got all the kinks out now

However if you close the Inputbar on your main window it will stop ya from start chat unless you click on an input bar..
A work around is right click a window (with Inputbar) and select always chat here... (Think thats the name)

One more little tweak.. Window now stores it's minimized Location and restores to it original position when restored!

Edit: Changed Attachment.. Did a little more tweaking and got rid of another bug..
Layout Oder is now
Layout1:Show Input and Scroll
Layout2:No Input, No Scroll
Layout3:Scroll, No Input
Layout4:Show Input, No Scroll

Heres a picture of chat different Layouts. Also, a preview of how the new graphic set is coming along

However, I have found "Escape" key does not close the map window.
I have tried to use "default" UI or other "Complete" set UI, they dont have this problem.

Anyway, Talyns great job!

I did that purposely.. Now the map window won't close when clearing your target.. Closing bags.. Etc..

I keep my map window at 1/3 size.. And open most of the time..

Hello

The Bag mod dosen't seems to work on my UI, in fact I can only see 4 slots of my bags even if my bags are 6 or 8 slots, any clue about this ?

Hmm No Idea.. Works for me.. What did you do to it to make it work in that skin?

Hi, sort of new around here, but like to say very good work on this whole UI. Just wondering though is it possible to have only parts of it? Or do you have to use all the mods show?

Also, with the few UI changes I got from here already, do I need to delete thos if I install this one?

Sorry if those questions have been answered, I posted before reading all stuff here

Wink Temp Fix.. Possibly Permenant

Well, for now I created my own chat boxes, simple, black, with no scroll bars. Doesn't have the Tablets Gray border, but I can live with it.

I'm still curious as to why it wouldn't change to black by changing the files I mentioned earlier.

The only thing I can think of is it has to be saved in a proper way, perhaps using photoshop with DDS filters installed. Rather than another program that reads .TGA files, that somehow makes them incompatible with Everquest?

When saving a TGA for eq2 it needs to be uncompressed.. UIBuilder will read a compressed TGA fine but the client doesn't seem to..

Try this tga...

Default re UI problems - just wouldn't work...

I spent hours pondering how I could possibly have followed the instructions incorrectly.

Eventually... eventually! I realised I had a localised folder due to having received a UK DVD but wanting to use US servers.

The folder is called LP_REGION_EN_US and sits in the EQ2 folder. If you have a similar localized version your eq2.ini file needs to go into this folder, and your UI folder needs to go into the UI subdirectory of this folder.

Presumably this also applies for other localized folders.

Very nice work on the UI. I thank you for the work you have put into it so far.

Here is my humble mod. I prefer the cyan and green colors to the purple, but the screen is in purple as I was testing out all the colors.

My main is an inquisitor and my bigest hang up was watching my power/health in addition to the groups. That is why I have my health/power in two different places. (group window and target window) I use the nostromo n52 so my hotbars are set up to match the layout. I also jamed your extra windows into the player window because I dont have the room on my main for the extra hotkey. The concentration icons are below the health/mana in the group window in the place for the other group members impairments

Anyway, I really like what you have done and I hope my tinkering is no so bad as to be offensive.
