Chat mod changes

So since the other thread on this got locked, I guess I need to start a new one.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to unhide the chat input. For me, at least, the chat input is hidden by default, and other than enabling frame and title, I can't type in chat at all.

Am I missing something here, or does this new - otherwise very handy feature - lack documentation?
