Error Missing Window Nc2

I have downloaded the updater just fine but when the client gets to the actual game (read: once past title screens) EQ shuts down saying that a file is missing, Window NC2 or something like that. EQ works just fine as the original but I can't play with the updater. It used to work but for some reason it no longer does, I even reinstalled the updater, no dice. Any ideas on how to fix this?
