pet bar dissapearing

the Pet box in my UI just doesnt wanna work when i click

1440X900 Resolution
*make that any resolution*

prior to choosing my resolution i can see the box but when i choose the res it dissapears upon loading.

any help as to what im doin wrong, or whats goin wrong?
