eq1 mapper?

Just curious as to how far out of the relm of possibilities would it be to recreat the eq1 mapper that allowed you to draw the map in game?

For those that didnt play eq1, basicly you would click a pencil, run around on a wall similar to now, then just lift the pencil. All was saved while maping to the map directory.

I know id be much more inclined to help if i didnt have to hassle with the locs, then converting it with the zone erects, but im not foolish enough to think that this would be just a 2 min patch to add, was just curious if it was even possible with this ui system.
