Default Clicking on spell icons links the spell in chat window without casting it.

I ve been having this problem for over 1 year. I came back to the game a few days ago. I did a clean install of the game and installed profitui through the updater.

After a few hours of play this problem resurfaced again. I cant cast any spell at all by clicking on the icon. Instead, the name and the description of the spell appear in the chat window , like it was somehow linked in chat. Clicking on a different spell icon doesnt do anything , other than showing its link on chat.

Its a very strange problem, and i cant find a topic about it , so i am starting this new thread.

Need some help please, this is driving me nuts ! .

That's the function of holding down the Shift key normally... perhaps one of your Shift keys is stuck down, or you have the Sticky Keys option turned on in Windows? (Hold down shift for >5 seconds, or press it 8 times in a row to bring up the options for it)

Just a guess.

This happens as a result of how EQ2 virtualizes input, IIRC. What happens is the game thinks your shift key is still pressed down. You can usually fix this by windowing/dewindowing, camping to yourself, or even sometimes playing with the shift keys until the game realizes you are no longer holding it down.

I do not really know of a way to prevent this from happening. In the rare case it happens for me (< once every couple months) I usually just window out and back and fiddle with the shift keys and that usually fixes it.

Of course as Drumstix said -- if you have sticky keys on that would certainly also do it.

Thank you both for replying . That fixed it for me . I dont have sticky keys turned on, but pressing shift a few times did the trick.

Now i ll know what to do if it happens again ! .

Default pizza did it!

I remember the first time that happened to me I was solo healing in a group panicking unable to heal anyone hehe.

I just take my keyboard and beat on it upside down a few times. You'll get mounds of crap to come out lol. (if your like me and play too much and eat pizza at ur computer desk) lol
