Default Flashing while in full screen

I installed the EQ2Map auto updater. When I started the game up in full screen everything (intro, character select, in game) was flashing and had graphical problems. When I switched to windowed mode the problem went away. The mod seems to work fine in windowed mode but before I installed it I didn't have this problem. Any ideas?

I get this with my cursor. It blinks and blinks and blinks when in full screen but the moment i go windowed, it quits. only way to terminate the occurence is to reboot my machine and log back in through normal EQ2 means. I dont know if it is directly related to EQmaps or another issue. It is however, quite annoying.

I was messing around and I tried turning of SLI on my vid cards and it fixed it. I searched the EQ2 tech forums and they say that SLI doesn't work on EQ2 anyway so its no big deal. I've always had SLI on without the mod and had no problems tho so that part is strange.

So,
SLI off + EQ2Maps = good
SLI on + no EQ2Maps = good
SLI on + EQ2Maps = bad

I have to say, your answer is inconclusive. There are days i have logged on to EQ2 and had blinky cursor and i had never run EQMaps. There are days i run EQMaps and never get a blink cursor.

Ulimately, i have to say it has nothing to do with EQMaps but i am betting your hypothesis about SLi has some merit. Unfortunately, i have a 7950 GX2 and it pretty much is always SLi-on. I can turn it off i know but it isn't worth the hassle for one game.

I've have learned though life to never say never but for this I'll go out on a limb and say I am 99.9% sure that it is not a EQ2MAP issue.

EQ2MAP is just a UI mod that is it. It has no code or any UI for that matter has code that could jack with the graphics engine. Id be more willing to bet that the added resource usage from using EQ2MAP has more to do with it than any thing else.

I can't say that is the case for you guys as you could have a right snappy comp but if it was EQ2MAP the reports would be wide spread and not isolated between 2 or 3 people out of 1000s.

I have noticed in my own experience that EQ2 seems to handle memory better in windowed mode. before I had 2G I would always need to either reboot of switch to window mode on and off to keep lag in check.
