Default My frames - help!

I've been working on frames I'd like to see in my own UI, modeling them in ProEngineer (It's like trying to make a piece of jewelry with a sledgehammer and a shovel sometimes, but it works)

But try as I might I am just not interested enough to learn the UI builder. Since the wife left, solo on the 3 kids means I'm on limited concentration time.

So, I'm hoping to find a site to post my frames, and then let you guys use them if you want to. I need to know a few things

0.5 . SHould I even Bother? Would they get used, if they look good?

1. What size do you want the pieces? I have been making corners, channels to go between them, bar frames etc

2. WHat is the best site to use to host these? I can afford 20 bucks a month, but that's about it...

3. Do you want a "cut" look, intense filligree, or other. I've got all 3. (The most recent set of corners and pieces I am working on uses trucker mud-flap girls). The software I use to model is very restrictive, in that no non-real world pieces can be made, and free-form modeling is very obtuse. Most of the models that I make for the frames look pretty 2 dimensional (they are 3D, just not deep), because that's how they are used. The tortured angel I'm working on is not 2d at all, but I'd still like to make a set of interface pieces based on her when she's done in 2009...

4. Should I host both "colored or textured" versions as well as blank white ones (or whatever color you guys might think best for modifying it)? THat way you can change the textures easily to suit your own needs...

That's about it... get back to me when you have a chance...

Post up some screenies of your work. If you get some request then you can get a host for them. Thats what I would do any way.

Here's the first one I did... that's the one I have here at work... it's meant to be a multi purpose player/target/implied target with the big diamond being a clickable (all bags, or the eq2 button) and then the little diamonds being radios to activate, I hoped, raid group windows on/off, or some other useful on/off...

Player info on the left. hitpoints
_ power
experience
conc

Target info on the right. target hp
target power _
implied hp
implied power

The empty bars in the middle, I may either shrink a whole bunch smaller, or I'd like to seem them used for buffs and maintained, but that would limit how may buffs you can see.

I'll be working on more pieces to this, as well as finishing up the mudflap girls when I have the chance.

These don't have to continue to be blue. I can skin them any color, or import some textures and skin them, but I wanted to leave the textures up to the actual interface authors. I personally think that this would look great as marble (but I only have purple marble because I haven't gone looking for textures), or something that looks like a wood inlay

Default The inventory frame

This is just a rough draft of the inventory frame. The blue color does not do it justice, and I didn't do a count on how many inventory items there were, so I just put in 8 per side, and haven't put in the weapon slots and bag slots. I will start re-coloring the chamfers on these pieces to give them more depth after work today
