help, how do i set my chat to stay?

I'm using tyejae steel and it happened on a few UIs but.. how do i set the chat to stay on say channel not switch right whne i type a group message or guild message?

That is set in OPTIONS under User Interface / Chat Window. Scroll till you see "Auto Switch Chat types" and UNCHECK it. Then Press ACCEPT and the option will be saved.

nope, it was already unchecked hehe

Try checking it, then unchecking it, hitting accept each time.

It IS that option, there is nothing in the UI that can change that.
