Default Guild Window - Member List - Slow Scrolling

Anybody know why the scrolling in the member list of the guild window goes soooo, slooooow when you click the up or down arrows on the scroll bar?

I tried fiddling around with it last night to see if I could speed it up and nothing I tried worked. I even removed everything but the NameAndLevel Text object from the MemberRow Page object to see if maybe it was trying to update too many things which was making it scroll slow (long shot at best but I had tried everything else that made any sense to me). It was a funky looking window with hardly anything on it but it still scrolled really slow.

I'm guessing this is something on the SoE side but not sure. Anybody have any insight into this? Anybody even know what I'm talking about?

Have you tried setting the autoscroll* parameters of the scrollbar?

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

Isn't there a ScrollSpeed property?

I'll give those a shot when I have a chance to get back at it (only certain days I have the time to fiddle with these things).

So, does this mean that there are people out there running UIs where when you click the down arrow on the scroll bar for the member list in the guild window, it actually scrolls at a normal pace?

For me, on both the default UI and the FetishNightfall UI, when I click the up or down arrow, the list crawls. It doesn't happen on any other list in any other window. Just the member list on the guild window.

Thanks

I don't think I've clicked on an arrow on a scrollbar in my life, I always drag it with the mouse, so not a clue how fast it goes or should go.

I normally don't either, except for this window. When I'm looking through scrollable list and need to look at each item, I usually look at one page at a time, then click the blank area near the bottom of the scroll bar to jump down one page in the data. Normally this works fine. Take a list of numbers for example:

1
2
3
4
5
6
7

If three numbers fit per page, on the first page you would see:

1
2
3

If I click the scroll bar to jump down a page, most interfaces would show me this:

3
4
5

or at least show me the bottom of 3 so I have some indicator as to where I left off and where I'm going to. I can spot something that was at the bottom of the page, now located at the top of the page. You can try it on this page with your browser.

In the members list of the guild window, it doesn't do this. It takes the item at the bottom of the page and scrolls it completely off the page to the top. You then wonder if it scrolled exactly or if it skipped anything. To see if it skipped anything or find out where it is in the list, I click the arrow to go back up and see what it did. The arrow scrolls like a snail. The other option is to grab the marker and drag it up but if you're looking at the full listing of everyone in the guild with several hundred characters listed, it's almost impossible to scroll that way without jumping several characters at a time since the list is so long.

Basically, I have to treat this window differently than any other window I deal with anywhere in life because of it's scroll behavior. That's why I'm trying to fix it.
