Map screen freeze

I've had this for a long while now and just figured it was normal even though programmatically it makes little sence. When I first load up the game and hit m to show the map, the map loads quickly with np, however when I close the map there is a 2-4sec delay where my screen freezes then everythings normal. If I open the map again and close it there is no delay. From a programming perspective I can see there being a slight delay opening the map since its got to parse some data, but closing?

Hmm. Are you using a laptop, or an old graphics card perhaps?

If memory serves me, there was a user before that mentioned a similar issue, and it was because his laptop's video card was not supported and lacked a feature which was slowing down things when displaying the UI.

I have the same issue... I have a nvidia 7800 GT with updated drivers. My wife is on a brand new laptop with a 8600m GT and does not have this problem.

8800GT 3.8 e8400 cpu 4 gig of ddr2 800 ram, I've experienced it on this computer before I rebuilt it and also on my new dell laptop which i think has a 2.4 core2 duo its a dell xps 1730, since im not sure im logged in this is the org poster
