Default Fetish Classic - definitely dead?

Xonx, your last official word on it as far as I remember was that you would keep updating classic at least every now and then if your time allows.
I now after half a year or so of absence subscribed to EQ2 again and found classic still at version 8.1, whereas Nightfall is at 9.6b. This made me wonder if you dropped it completely and I just missed you saying so.

Could you you get me up to speed on this with an official anouncement of yours? Pretty please?

I believe he was hoping SOE would finally bring in a method for much easier skinning. Once that happens he'll probably update FetishClassic again, but as it is now I believe it's a pretty big hassel to have to update everything from nightfall to classic.

Exactly correct. A SOE developer has had the addition of ColorStyles on his list of enhancements since before ROK. Once that's done, I can update the UI to support alternate Motifs like Classic much easier.

Untill that happens, I don't plan to issue updates to Classic... I just don't have the time these days to support two complete sets.

Thank you for your answer, Zonx. I appreciate it.

Guess I have to go look for a new UI then. ^_^" ( No offense intendend, but the colours of Nightfall are absolutely not to my liking. )

I thank you for a long time I had fun using your Fetish Classic UI. It is a great set, no doubt. And if it ever gets updated again, I'll defintely check it out and see if using it again would be an option.

Again, thank you.

Is there something really horrible and drastic I'm doing that is going to ruin my UI for me, because I simply copied the Fetish Classic images folder over the Fetish images folder and it's been working fine for me now for weeks. There are a few things that still maintain the blue tinge, but for the most part, I have the Classic gold look, and it actually fixed the problem I'd had with the Fetish chat window where you would type in the chat bar and not be able to see your text. I took a look beforehand at the entire image set to be sure nothing had been added to Fetish that was missing in Classic and it corresponds, so far as I can determine, image for image with what is actually there that copies....there is stuff ADDED in Fetish but I didn't see where copying the stuff from Classic was detrimental. Let me know if I'm wrong!

I like Fetish, but this let me try something new, and for the people who like the Classic look and do NOT like the blue hue, this would seem to be a very easy ghetto fix until a full one comes out. Assuming I did not do something harmful...

Just replacing the images won't do anything harmful. And yeah it'll fix the look of many things, so if you really love fetish but like classic over nightfall thats actually quite a good solution, I'd think. IMHO it's just not "clean" enough for an actual release as that, but definitely sounds like a good stop-gap solution =)
