FanFaire and UI requests
Greetings!
I'm going to be at the SOE FanFaire this weekend. Hopefully some of you will be there (ask for Bob.) I will have a notepad and will be writing down all the ideas, requests, and opinions on the user interface I hear.
So I thought I would offer everyone here the same opportunity. If you were the EQII producer, what would be your prioritized list for the UI team? Top ten only please.
Feel free to remind me of the bugs you find most annoying.

2) DynamicData that is listed but nonfuntioning (All Group data, maintained duration, "melee" resitances, etc)

- /loadUI would be my number one priority so that people can have different UI's for each charater, they can easly install them, and authors can easly write code and refresh the UI many times until they get it right.
- Fix current dynamic data as explained above.
- A nice uierror reporting system. Also if an author writes something that is bad or bugged instead of crashing it would be nice if the error handling checked the interface files and then if it has errors that would crash the game load the default interface instead. Kind of like EQ1.
- un-hardcode the window used for reading books and allow us to be able to move the "read more" and "cancel" links. When reading a long book with text of various lengths some times you hit cancel by mistake and it would be nice if interface authors could modifiy that for some people and move the buttons up top.
- The raid window may need some love. I'm not sure how to fix it but I do find it a bit bulky and I think that is its number one complaint. Also this is more function then interface but it would be nice to have a raid leader control pannel to allow the raid leader to move people to and from different groups with a click of a few buttons.
- Look into adding .lua support
- Writ Givers and similar quest givers. Have a window pop open that will allow us to select what quest we want instead of hailing the npc over and over until we get it.
Thats all I can think of now. I would just be happy with the /loadui command working.
I should have asked if you were going to be at FF. I would have gone then. I didnt think there would be anything on the EQ2 interface there.

4. Working Load UI button (command line is so 80's)
5. Packetloss/pingmeter
6. Basic HTML support for the HTML window, especially links. Your community sites (EQvault, stratics, etc) would love this as well.
7. Dynamic data version of the sign in cities showing how many gnolls, orcs, etc you have killed
8. Fix examine links if they are still broken
9. Add links to player names in /who output
10. Cool and unexpected things you game developers always seem to pull out of your hats

All of the above but also,
Make the Effects window more flexable even if it would work with a volume page that would be better..
Also thanks Mr Bobble for giving us that cannot attend, the opportunity to request stuff for your notepad also

*when you inspect someone roleplaying you can read their class and race as well as level, this takes away from the anonymous aspect of the /roleplay tag.
**being able to bank via a NPC somewhere in almost all zones. Say maybe have a 20silver fee for doing this or something.
***my requesting this hopefully doesn't hit as to how low my KvD is /evil.grin
but I believe players should be able to mend their own armour say to 50% at least, if they have no plans on returning to a city anytime soon.
****sometimes I shut off chatwindows and just run around fighting and harvesting, I hate getting group invites, a button or checkbox to auto decline would be nice.

Not sure if it is part of the ui or not:
I would really, really, really, like the ability to assigin my own chat numbers to the world channels i subscribe too.
Recently they are changing everytime i lot on. so i have to type /1 hello? ; /2 hello? ; /3 hello? ; /4 hello? ; etc.. to find out what channel is where.
If we could assigin them perminate numbers that are custom it would greatly help.
/loadui would also be nice.

1. fix /load UI command
2. ability to lock hotbar buttons down on the hotbar so they dont move or "pick up" accidentally
3. fix Dynamic Data that is listed but doesn't work and add more DD items as well.
4. Hits Modes ! (please!)
5. a dedicated, functioning notes window with full HTML capabilities
6. a latency meter would be nice
7. let any window accept any element - reduce hardcoding wherever possible
8. have 2 or 3 different types of chat windows : normal, no input line, etc...
9. basic text editing options in chat windows - cut, paste, copy etc...
10. a better UI error log file

I would like to see a little slider in the options menu that let you scale the size of the entire interface. So that at say 1024x768 resolution the UI could be scaled to 1600x1200 resolution. As it is the UI takes up too much game space. Does that make sense?

4) Ability for guild leader to mute or silence people in guild chat (ie if an argument breaks out, the leader can mute those people involved so as to not disrupt the rest of the guild and tell them to take the argument to private chat)

How about being able to rearrange your group window instead of it just being random? So you could move your tank to the f2 slot then after he goes ld and comes back you could move him back to f2.

My suggestions
1) See Dolby's Post
2) Fix the GRIFFON Mounts (tired of black screen and locs of -200,000 -200,000 -200,000...Alas you fallen to your death...debt/equip damage)
3) Fix the grpahic glitch for female characters when they sit (horizon does not reflect the sitting movement bug)
4) Fix the sound stutter issues
5) Fix the chestdrop sound so when in Group a custom chestdrop sound will play. It works solo, just never in group.

Beyond the major items listed above. I would like to add my vote for:
If this falls under UI I would like /anon to take me off the player search system. Seems that /anon is working like /rpg should. As a healer even tho I use /anon I so I dont get spamed with tells. I still show up under search and still get tells.
Get the HTML window to work would be nice.
The Tracking window needs some work. (ie being able to track a mob type beyond level of con. Like /track knolls. Would list all knolls.)
Also, last I checked the when you drag the ammo slot to the hotbar it doesn't update the ammo counter on the fly. You have to pick up the button to get it to update. Also can we get somekind of ammo bag? lol

Allow you to view market wile adventuring again.. Think this was pulled in update 6. You can still open market window but you can no longer view items for sale.
