"Email Feed" system
I've added all of my own mods and several other mods to my "Email Feed" for new comments, but I haven't received any emails when new comments are posted.
Is this feature broken, or am I misunderstanding the way it's meant to work?

Do you have admin emails disabled in the usercp? http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/p...do=editoptions
You also wont get a email if you post a reply. It only sends an email if others reply.

Yep, I have admin emails enabled. I'm going to keep an eye on it to see if I receive any in the future.
It might just be my email host having hiccups...it's been known to happen.
Thanks, guys.

GM9 posted a comment to my Stained Glass target ring mod this morning, but I never received notification. Then again, that file was wonky anyway, for some reason, so not receiving an email for the new comment might have been a fluke.
Still keeping an eye out...

Well I just subscribed to the email feed for your new target ring myself (interesting that you can do that even) and made a new comment there. We'll see whether I get a notification.
Maybe you need to have this option checked :

Email Notification:
Enable this feature to recive email notification when one of your favorites has been updated.

It says favorites but may apply here as well.

I do have that option enabled...I get updates when my favorites are updated, normally -- even my own mods. Today, I've updated my Stained Glass ring but got no update email. I also haven't gotten an email for GM9's comment on my Aztec Sun ring.
GM9, I just posted a reply to your comment on my Aztec Sun ring; please let me know if you get an email!

Ok, I did not get an email for my own comment, which is working as intended I suppose. I did however get a notification for yours:

Hello gm9,
EQ2Interface would like to inform you that Seagoat has posted a new comment for Seagoat's Target Ring: Aztec Sun that is on your email feed list.

File: Seagoat's Target Ring: Aztec Sun
Commenter: Seagoat
Subject:

Which broken off bits? Hehe...it looks this way on purpose, I promise.
Thanks for the compliment! I anticipate doing a lot more rings; they're loads of fun.

With broken off bits I meant the spikes of the star.

Maybe it's my email host, but the forum reply notifications are getting through ok. That makes me think it's something in the configuation here, but I'm not seeing it in my own options. I've got every conceivable "send me email" flag turned on, but I'll go through and check everything again.
For the record, I did get one lonely comment notification back on April 26, when Sinbad posted a comment on my XP Bars (Original). I haven't received any comment notifications since that one.
(Re. Aztec Sun: That's what I figured, but yeah, they're like that on purpose. I just shrunk the original [outer] star and filled in the center to make the con ring, then deleted every other outer triangle to make one set for the main ring and an alternating set for the con ring.)

Maybe your email provider uses a spam filter that blocks the notifications. They come from " [email protected]" and contain text such as "*You are receiving this email because it is on your email feed list. If you would like to remove this feed just remove it from your feed list in the download control panel". Also, they contain two links.
I can see this easily get classified as SPAM.

Thanks for reminding me that they are sent from a different address, GM9. I knew it, but didn't make the connection...I blame it on this bug I've caught that's got my lymph nodes going supernova. (Ow!)
I made some changes to my provider's spam filter, and hopefully it will solve the problem. I'll let you know!

I think part of the problem is that there are multiple addresses in the "From" section of the email header.
This bit is from a comment notification email:
Code:
Subject: New File Comment for Seagoat's Target Ring: Stained Glass.
From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>
Message-ID: <[email protected]>
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1
From: "New File Comment @ EQ2Interface" <[email protected]>
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
And this is from the download update notification email:
Code:
Subject: Seagoat's Target Ring: Stained Glass has been updated!
From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>
Message-ID: <[email protected]>
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1
From: "Favorites Update @ EQ2Interface" <[email protected]>
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
I think my spam filter was rejecting it outright because of the duplicate values; it wasn't even bothering to check to see if the domains matched or whatever.
The forum reply notification and news update notification emails seem to be just fine in this regard, and I don't ever recall having issues with either of them.
Hope this helps someone somewhere...

Well actually several header lines are duplicated there, good catch! I can confirm that they look the same on my end.

Yep, they are, but I imagine it's the duplicated "From" that's waving the biggest red flag.
