Default ProfitUI Installion Troubles (Extracting)

Hey guys, i've been hearing all these good things about ProfitUI, so i decided to give it a go. After a bit of searching, i found that EQ2Interface is the place to go. So after a little more searching, i found the ProfitUI installation section. It had 7 links, so i just went with the auto updater. So i click it and hit download, this java tihng comes up and i hit continue. Then it downloads and the window opens and it starts updating, then it says my files are updated so i hit the exit button. then i get on using EQ2 maps and nothing has changed, and when i hit /loadui, it only shows the default skin. There was a window somewhere that had all the files for UI, i hit extract all, and the destination was my desktop, is this what i want? i just hit proceed with all the default things that were there. If anyone knows what i did wrong or what i need to do, please reply. And DO NOT just post a link to the instructions, i know where they are. Thanks guys

Cifee, 48 Brigand, Nagafen.

I'm having the exact same problem.
I just started playing again yesterday after about a year off. I'd previously used ProfitUI and had no problems, but it seems that something has changed as far as how you actually get the interface to show up in-game.

Both of you guys very likely have several EQ2 installations (SOE's new patchers like to install a second or third copy of the game to a different location and use that instead) and you'll have to find the correct one and configure that one in the updater (right clicking the icon you use to start the game and checking its properties is usually a good start).

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

One nice thing about the beta Station Launcher: when you go into Preferences and look at the preferences for a game, it displays the installation path it's using for the game. Makes it easy to nail down exactly where your game lives. Of course, downside is it adds yet a third possible copy of the game.
