Default event triggers

Is it possible to create a window that shows when events trigger (shelter, overloaded heal etc)? Something in a fairly large font so i can see my triggers go off?

It's not a window, but you could use a parser like ACT to make a sound when triggers you specify go off.

As for a window... it may be possible for triggers that proc on *yourself* and show up in your effects window or for those that proc on others but show up in your maintained window. You might then be able to use the name of it to activate another window, but I have never really messed with it so I'm not sure on that. But for those that only go into chat, I don't see any way you could automatically activate an in-game window.

The UI really has no clue about when an item procs its effect. It might be able to see shelter because that appears as an icon in the maintained window... but overloaded heal would be impossible.
