Seriously, why the poll?

Your problem is that you either deviated from the installation instructions or you have multiple eq2 installations and installed to the wrong one. The fact that your login screen changed - whereas eq2map comprises no modified login screen - clearly shows that something went wrong on your end.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.
