Default Changing Thread Titles?

I want my thread in the "Released" forum to be renamed from "Seagoat's Experience Bars" to "Seagoat's UI Mods." Changing the title of the first post in the thread only changes the title for that post; it has no effect on the thread title whatsoever. Apparently only moderators and administrators can change thread titles.

I Googled this, and found that on February 17th of this year, it was reported as a bug in the vBulletin code, and a fix was released. (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/proje...?issueid=21495)

Is there any way we can get this patch implemented? Pretty please with sugar on top?

Its not a bug, thread titles will only change with in 2min of your post. After that you need a moderator to do it. The bug you linked doesnt effect this version of vbulletin.

Ugh.

Maybe a compromise? Possibly allow interface authors (with [x] files or more?) or members with a certain post count / account age to change their thread titles? Or allow us to change them, but have a moderator approve the change before it takes effect?

I don't intend to sound argumentative -- I'm really not trying to be -- but I fail to see the logic behind such a setup. I'd think it would be more to the community's advantage to allow authors to change their thread titles to better reflect the thread content.

All that being said, thank you very much for changing my thread title for me.

Thats the way this version of vbulletin software is setup. We will be upgrading to the latest version tomorrow night as per my news post which should be much more flexible in this area.

I didnt think you were being argumentative and I hope you dont think I was. I was just explaining how it was setup, not that I think its the right way or anything, just explaining and nothing more.

Oh no, of course I don't think you were being belligerent! I'm just a lowbie, though...disclaimers are always a good idea. LOL

Fingers crossed that the upgrade will allow some wiggle room!
