Lightbulb I have a brilliant IDEA!

A web browser page IN GAME!! So you don't hafta install a million mods to find info!! Just go check out Ogaming.com whenever you want without downsizing & slowing down your game! & if someone already made this....I'll kick myself.

this is in the default game

type
/show_window Inventory.HTML

to get it to show up. Think that is the name anyway, oh and if I remember it is case sensitive so the HTML has to be in caps

Just be careful with the built-in browser. Currently, it's not a fully compliant browser. And it's full of bugs, so expect it to randomly execute the /exit command which will really slow down your game play.

It's adequate for looking at simple web pages, but it doesn't do well on complicated ones.

And we can't make one for ingame. All we can really do is dress up the UI we can't change or add functions to it.

If there was specific information you wanted.... you could actually build a "simple" webpage to display it. So that you and others could access using the in game browser without having the game crap out.

The info is out there, though compiling it would be a chore. As would keeping it up to date. You would also run into the problem of taking all of the information and working it in to an easily navigated site that would still be "simple" enough that it didn't cause problems for the game.

For me it was more time/cost effective to buy a second monitor and eventually a second computer.

or you could just install the Milquetowst Info Center which has just about any bit of information you could need in game. And if memory serves, it also allows you to add your own notes

On the topic of the Inventory.HTML file, is there any way to get it to open a php board? There is only one character that interferes with this page working in game and that is the '&' character. I'd like to be able to bring up my guild's DKP site in game...

The address I'm trying to use is this:
http:// _______.com/dkp/viewmember.php?s=&name=_______
(Site and char name is edited, obviously )

I've also tried:
http:// ________.com/dkp/listmembers.php?s=&o=0.0&show=all

With both of those, I get the error 'A semi colon character was expected.'

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Couldn't you load a frameset that contains the site you want to see rather than going straight to the site?

- index.html - main frameset (this is what you load up in-game)
-- Frame - your dkp database (loads as the browser reads the index file)

Put the index with the frameset on some easy location and load the address in the game browser. I have no idea if it works or not but theoretically you could keep the index file locally on your harddrive and just fire it up when you need access to your dkp database (assuming, of course, that it does work hehe).

Do I make any sense here hehe?

Oh, and if you want to be really secret, don't forget to edit your sig.

Funny stuff.

My suggestion would be to either use a double notation "&&", since the game interprets the "&" as a special character. It could also work to use "&" or you could change your php to (also) support another character as a separator for arguments, e.g. a ";". Pixi's idea should also work if the ingame browser supports frames, which I don't know. A simple page that contains a link to your dkp page should also work.

Note that I didn't test any of this in game.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

Pixi's post made no sense to me I know nothing about that stuff. As for my sig, I just didn't want to give out the DKP site, its seperate from our regular forums

I tried replacing the & with a ; but that did nothing but throw up a new error

Just tested the && which gave me "A name was started with an invalid character."

Then tried the & it gave me the error "A semi colon character was expected."

Guess there isn't a way I'm able to do that would make it work. Also, from your description, it sounded like this would be just for me to be able to pull up, I'd like to have all the Guild members be able to bring this page up in game. But again, it doesn't sound like this is going to be possible.
